Wells and Mendip Astronomers

Wells & Mendip Astronomers was set up in the year 2013 and now has over 60 members. We are a society that meets regularly with a calendar packed  with events, details of which can be found in the 'Calendar' tab above. We are a group of passionate astronomers who wish to learn more about astronomy and go stargazing in and around Somerset.
The membership consists of all ages and backgrounds; with a diverse knowledge and enthusiasm for astronomy. With members involved with ESA, National STEM.

We host events in a number of venues across Wells and the Mendip Hills (AONB) -  Wells & Mendip Museum, Charterhouse Observatory and Oakhill Village Hall.

​We welcome and invite any new members to our friendly society who are share a passion or interest in astronomy and the universe beyond.

 Our goal as an astronomy society is to engage with local astronomy and space enthusiasts to enjoy, share and develop their interests and skills. Our aims extend to increasing public awareness and outreach events at this very important time for science and space exploration through our programme of events, talks and star parties.

We would like to welcome anyone interested in astronomy; whether you are a  beginner or experienced astronomer - young or old. We will do our best to help, so please come and join us as...
